Role Description

The opportunity

Unity is looking for an experienced global corporate events leader. The ideal candidate has experience delivering events that connect brand awareness with driving demand across a broad customer base, while engaging with a very vibrant user community.

This leader will work closely across many senior internal stakeholders - spanning C-level executives, product leaders, sales and marketing - balancing stakeholders’ demands and interests to ensure we deliver successful events.

This person will own a mix of formats ranging from Unity’s user conference: Unite to 3rd party event sponsorships and repeatable in-market roadshows. They will lead a team of events professionals as well as manage our event agencies.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and implement an overarching corporate events strategy aligned with Unity’s goals and objectives
  • Have a clear understanding of marketing goals, campaigns, and messaging to design a strategic vision and annual plan for how events and experiences support our objectives, partnering with others for alignment
  • Design engaging event experiences that maximize reach and impact for both gaming as well as non-gaming customers and users
  • Develop compelling partnership opportunities to drive sponsorships within our ecosystem
  • Maintain and manage a network of partners to assist with various aspects of event management, including venue sourcing, production, branding, and onsite logistics
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand their business needs and goals. Work in partnership to create valuable experiences for our customers and users. Drive consistency globally.
  • Establish, track, and report on event metrics, including attendance, engagement, and ROI Continually assess opportunities for improvement and optimization of future events
  • Lead and mentor a team of event professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture focused on innovation, creativity, and excellence

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • A strong leader who can strike the right balance between strategy, creativity, and impactful execution
  • Experience working directly with CEOs and C-level executives. Ability to engage with and influence senior executives with gravitas
  • Proven experience delivering both large scale (3k+ people) and more intimate executive (C-suite) events to a very high standard on behalf of a broad range of customers, prospects and developers, preferably in the gaming or technology industries
  • Ability to analyze data, develop strategies to achieve desired metrics, build compelling business cases for investment, and present results at executive levels
  • Understanding of how to engage developers and technical users to drive deeper affinity for Unity’s technologies and services
  • A detail-oriented, analytical approach, with the ability to manage multiple, high-profile projects and deliverables
  • Skilled contract negotiator with a demonstrated track record of finding creative ways to do more with less with allocated budgets
  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and design
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and mentor multiple team members
  • Ability to succeed in a innovative, and rapidly evolving industry and organization
